The world it seems is ruled by numbers…balance sheets, GDP forecasts, the clock. Numbers are rigorous, objective, comparable. Is that all that matters?
our words reveal truths
numbers won’t uncover
our stories show colors
the data calls errors
lives diminish, shades blur
when we count
what can’t be measured.
